|Matt Forte plans to retire as a member of the Chicago Bears.
The two-time Pro Bowl running back told NBC Sports Chicago on Monday that he will sign a one-day contract so he can officially go out as a Bear. Forte announced last week he is calling it a career after 10 seasons.
A second-round draft pick out of Tulane in 2008 Garrett Grayson Jersey , Forte spent his first eight seasons with Chicago and his last two with the New York Jets.
Forte’s 9,796 yards rushing rank 33rd on the NFL’s career list. He also had 554 receptions Ryan Tannehill Jersey , including setting the league record for running backs with 102 catches in 2014, and his 14 Anthony Sherman Jersey ,468 yards from scrimmage were the most in the NFL the past decade.
Former Steelers defensive back Ron Johnson has died, according to Steelers Depot. Johnson was 62.
A first-round pick in 1978 Lawrence Guy Jersey , Johnson won two Super Bowl rings in his seven seasons with the Steelers. He made 13 interceptions during his career, including four in his rookie season.
He also intercepted a pass in the 1978 AFC Championship Game against the Oilers and made three tackles in the Super Bowl XIII win over the Cowboys.
Johnson became the first rookie cornerback ever to start for the winning Super Bowl team. He won another ring the following season Kenny Young Jersey , making one tackle and breaking up three passes in the Steelers’ victory over the Rams.
Johnson switched from cornerback to strong safety in 1981 after Donnie Shell was injured. He also played free safety.
